Pride and Prejudice

「凡是有錢的單身漢，總想娶位太太，這已經成了一條舉世公認的真理。這樣的單身漢，每逢新搬到一個地方，四鄰八舍雖然完全不了解他的性情如何，見解如何，可是，既然這樣的一條真理早已在人們心目中根深蒂固，因此人們總是把他看作自己某一個女兒理所應得的一筆財產。」
 這是Jane Austen的Pride and Prejudice開場的精彩對白.反映了十九世紀的英國人們的愛情和價值觀。
女主角Elizabeth (Keira Knightley 飾)聰敏機智，有膽識，有遠見，有很強的自尊心，並善于思考問題。她曾演過《加勒比海盜》。覺的男主角Darcy不太帥,沒有」兩小無猜」裡的男主角帥。

Jane Austen短暫的一生幾乎都是在英國的鄉間度過的,也許就是周圍樸素,寧靜的氛圍孕育了她淡然的氣質.讀過《Pride and Prejudice》的人一定會為她細膩,敏銳的情感所折服.在寫《Pride and Prejudice》時,她只是一個十幾歲的女孩,難道這不是一種天賦嗎?她的確很少接觸"外界",但思想存在,想像存在,這一切的存在就足夠 。
戀愛婚姻既然是關係到終身幸福的大事，那就一定要嚴肅謹慎，切不可讓表面現象幪住眼睛。Elizabeth因為受到Darcy的怠慢，便對他萌發了偏見，而當「風度翩翩」的韋翰向她獻慇勤時，她又對達西產生了好感，直至聽信他的無恥讕言，進一步加深了她對達西的偏見和憎惡。後來她自我責備說，她所以會做出這種蠢事，完全是虛榮心在作怪。事實證明：「初次印象」是不可靠的，而偏見又比無知更可怕。
「最精諶的語言，」展現了作者「對人性的最透徹的理解」，四處洋溢著「機智和幽默」，令人感到「光彩奪目」，情趣盎然，回味無窮。
