Terms of Endearment

Very touching movie...

Little Emma has always been rebellious, and her mother always stubborn, but they have always loved each other, no matter how ridiculous and irrational sometimes they both seem to be to each other. Not when Aurora hysterically banned Emma from enjoying her youth time of life, not when Emma married to a poor having-no-steady-job graduate, and not when Aurora freaked out because she would become a grandma... No no no, these are all not important, because they are mother and daughter, and they have a tie, the most unbreakable one in the whole universe.

I think the most moving part is that when Aurora finally opened herself to her astronaut man and her daughter, and when Emma came home, Aurora talked about all the excitement and wonderful feelings and both of them laughed like going mad, and of course, like they are the best friends in the world. Right then they grasped what they shared in between, like my mother and I did when we both realized it would be no long before I'd go study in America.

Emma died in the end of the movie, peacefully and maybe happily, with all the deep true love from her mother, best friend, children, and her husband. The moment when the nurse waked Flap, Emma's husband, up and told him that she'd gone, the long-standing enemies, Flap and Aurora held each other tightly in their arms and Aurora kept whipping painfully and choked, "I'm so stupid! I'm so stupid!... Ah...Somehow I thought... Somehow I thought when she finally went, then it would somehow be a relief...Oh...My sweetie, my darling... Oh there's nothing harder... " Yeah, it could never be a relief when you know you lost someone you take cherish of life, and there's indeed nothing harder. But things move on, and everything's gonna be all right. What Emma left behind is all about love, the terms of endearment.

Really a wonderful movie. Crying all the time from the middle...One shall always enjoy life and speak out what they really feel from time to time. Really we all need to. Don't live regretfully. Don't ever!
