查理 巴特利中高潮部份富有寓意的中英對照台詞。及看法。

第一部份。
還記得查理因故意傷害罪在被捕前對同學們說得那段話嘛？
 "If there's one thing i want you guys to walk away with tonight,it's that you guys don't need me.I really meant it.You think I'm any less screwed up than you are?I get up every morning and I look in the mirror and I try and figure out just where i fit in.And I draw a complete blank.
 And you guys are looking tu me to tell you what to do?
You need to stop listening to me.And stop listening to people telling you who you shoule be.And stop listening tu the people that are telling you you're not good enough to do the things that you want to do!You guys have all the answers.
   今晚我只想讓大家知道一件事，那就是你們不再需要我了。的確如此。你們認為我什麼地方比你們強。每天早上起來我對著鏡子看。一直在想。我是什麼人。然而還是沒有答案。
    你們指望我來告訴你們怎麼做？你們別再聽我指揮了。別再讓別人告訴你們該怎麼做人了，不要再相信那些所謂你們眼高手低的鬼話了。真正的答案就在你們的心裡。"

  我想：這長長的一段話。就是在說：We know who am I.And we could be ourselves just like we want to be.
   自始至終，我們都知道自己是誰。我們能夠成為自己想要成為的那種人。要做自己。不要跟隨別人。要有自己的想法和主見，不盲目崇拜，亦不盲目自卑。堅信自己就能做好。

第二部份。
    查理在被保釋後，和媽媽的對話，我認為是這部劇的一個高潮的轉折。 至少此刻他解開了心結。
「巴特利夫人說到：I treated you like an adult for so long，you missed out on being a little boy.And now we're paying for it.(我一直以來把你當作成人，你甚至已經不知道如何去做個小男孩兒了。現在，我們為此付出了代價）
查理肯定道：With a vengean，I'd say.（我不得不承認，這還是個慘痛的代價。）
巴特利夫人：But you are just a kid，charlie.You understand that,right?And that doesn't change just because I don't know what to do with you.（但是你始終還是個孩子。查理。你明白對嗎？就算我把你錯當成個大人，你還是個孩子。）
查理答道：Mom，I wouldn't know what to do with me,either.（媽媽，我也不知道我究竟有多大了。）」

    查理，雖然成熟，仍然是個孩子。因為失去了父親，他力求保護母親，表現的成熟穩重。像個男人。然而他還是個孩子 ，會犯和孩子一樣的過錯。而母親的不斷原諒和信任 (以及在去探監父親的時候，父親對其的信任，認為他能夠處理好一切的信任。)讓他無所適從。有壓力無法釋放。
    因為在生理上和經歷上他都是個孩子。他渴望關心和愛護。那種被長輩教導的愛護。因此他鼓勵同學們去做任何想做的事情，其實是想因其他人的注意力，得到他人的關心和關注。同時也想通過此來證明白己可以。十分矛盾的成長著。


第三部份。
    蘇珊的爸爸（即校長），喝醉後拿著他那把槍到處亂放的時候，小查理被嚇到了。
   "他緊張的說：All right，then，what am I supposed to do in this situation?You know, I'm just a kid!I'm just a stupid kid!（好吧，好的。面對這種情況你想我怎麼做？你知道,我只是個孩子！我只是個愚蠢的小孩兒！）
校長說：stop the fucking presses.Run that by me again. You're a what?（別在那胡言亂語了。那好，你再告訴我一遍，你是什麼？）
查理：I『m just a kid.（我只是個孩子.)"

   至此，算是蘇珊的父親和查理何解。解開了彼此之間不能共存的矛盾。
   查理承認自己只不過是個孩子。也有很多不能做的事情，自己做錯的事情。他只是個孩子。17歲的孩子，做錯了事情。不要像對待成人那樣對待他的過錯。他始終是個孩子。這也是蘇珊的父親，校長徹底釋然並理解的最終原因。他只是個孩子。雖然看起來像個大人。始終是個孩子。

第四部份。
  劇終：蘇珊清唱的這首歌，在劇中出現過不止一次。
  第一次是查理和母親。查理被私立學校開除後回家，不是得到一頓打罵，而是和母親愉快的坐在鋼琴前彈唱。看出了查理的不一樣的少年生活。和家庭背景。
  第二次，查理和蘇珊在鋼琴前彈唱。 他們一個沒有了父愛，一個沒有了母愛。雖然都愛著自己的父親或母親，卻因為得不到正確的關注和愛護而不懂得如何與彼此的父母相處。他們有著共同的家庭生活背景。
  第三次，蘇珊在話劇表演中的清唱。歌詞如下：
   "if you wanna sing out, sing out.
