CARPE DIEM

今天抽時間看了Dead Poets Society的第一部份，記得第一次接觸這部電影是在廣播中英語欄目，說來慚愧，之所以對這部電影產生了好感是因為劇中人物那淡定的聲線，當然現在才知道那是Mr.Keating那春風化雨般的講課。O Captain, My Captain.

"Gather your rosebuds while you may, old time is still a-flying. And this same flower that smiles today, tomorrow will be dying." —— "To the Virgins to Make Much of Time"

所謂經典似乎總可以逾越文化的鴻溝，也感謝我們的翻譯，竟然引用了杜秋娘的「花堪折時直須折」。勸君莫惜金縷衣， 勸君惜取少年時。 花開堪折直須折， 莫待無花空折枝。 風流倜儻的詩句，羅曼蒂克的題目。也似乎只有對人類原始慾望的窺探才足以修飾這兩段詩句的唯美。

"CARPE DIEM. Seize the day. Gather your rosebuds while you may." Keating的聲音總是那麼得讓人安定，即使那樣一句"We are food for worms." 也不會讓人覺得突兀，似乎只要有這樣一位導師在身後默默地看著你，不會有什麼能讓我們去猶豫。

Gather your rosebuds while you may, then the world in your oyster.
