A touching movie
This was a really old one, shooted back in 1984, when the Cold War was harsh. Robin 威廉斯 played a guy from Moscow, defecting when he was on a show trip to 紐約. The movie focused on his time after he lived in the Big Apple, as a new immigrant, as a person who was after freedom.
I cannot tell how much it is related to the similar background I have. But the feeling was there and true.
As a new immigrant, you are a lamb in the wild Sahara. You don't know the language, you don't know the place, you don't know people, either. You are so lonely. You have no place to go and nobody to talk.
Lucky the Russian guy, he got his black friend, his Italian girl friend and Cuban lawyer to give him the very first ride when he was new to the city.
More than ten years ago, I was in a new place, a place far from the home, the family and friends. Today, I am in another place with the same cituation, it is still far from home, family and friends.
Where is my home and when can I return?
