O Captain my Captain!

記得captain 在裡面說過一句，銀行、化學、工程這些是為了生存，但別忘了我們生存的目的是為美和愛。
對這個貴族學校來說，這些將來當醫生、律師、工程師和銀行家的子弟，這種心靈的教育是適合。
對於自殺的尼爾來說，他並非富裕之家，一部份要承擔家庭責任，一部份要顧及個人夢想，在尖銳衝突下催折，令人扼腕。
這片子引起這麼多豆子的響應，恐怕也是在這裡看到了自己的影子。
我們中間大部份人生活的家庭條件恐怕不允許像那個被開除的「鈕旺達」如此超脫，而社會和學校的環境又是如此單一，提出自由的想像，獨立思考，自己的聲音，不同看世界的角度，這最能引起我們的共鳴。
我輩中人承受的可不僅僅是尼爾那樣的重壓，他至少可以上台一次，他至少還有個「船長」，他至少還有個岩洞，還有些社友。
青春的我們也許曾經孤立無援，一無所有，唯有責任，唯有一條道路，還不知為何？
說了那麼多相似的電影，我以為《肖申克的救贖》最像，這一個不過是青春版，而有個豆子說《飛越杜鵑巢》，也差不多。

以下是惠特曼的詩歌，浪漫的，傷感的……再想到這個片子是拍攝於上個世紀80年代的倒數第二年，你就知道，這個船長被迫頂缸是必然，必然要有一個老師被犧牲，為一個學生的死負責——那個帶來些微異教徒光亮和自由聲音的人自然最先被犧牲。
誰說成長的陶德不是那種子？誰說那犧牲的尼爾不是陶德的夥伴？誰說倖存的我不是那怯弱、有才華、變得勇敢的陶德？
Seize day, seizy every day, seize the life!
