男人孤島論 - 1624年英倫詩人的冥想

幾個細節：

細節一：COUNTDOWN （漢語：倒計時）- 英國本土一檔益智娛樂節目，始於80年代初並一直在電視4台(Channel 4)播放，現在節目的時長從原來的24分鐘延長到36分鐘。John Richard Whiteley是第一位主持人。

細節二：片頭，休·格蘭特扮演的「維爾」（Will）走過茶幾、電視，最後到沙發前，電視中 Countdown 主持人 John正在問的問題-- Who write the phrase「No man is an island」? John Donne, John Milton, John F. Kennedy, John Bon Jovi.
維爾故意講答案錯說成：「John Bon Jovi」（Bon Jovi樂隊的主唱）。但是，事實上這是英國17世紀偉大的玄學派詩人約翰·鄧恩(John Donne)在《祈禱文集》中的第17篇冥想[1]。

細節三：電影進行到第29分鐘，維爾敘述自己的「時間單元化」（"unit of time"）的孤島生活。輸入的url地址：http://supermodelswithseethroughtops.com。事實上，這個網站什麼都沒有，只有一張教宗保羅二世坐大奔的圖片。

細節四：「用他的歌溫柔的殺我」(Killing Me Softly with His Song)是1973年Charles Fox 和 Norman Gimbel共同創作的歌曲。陳凱歌也有一部同名電影《溫柔的殺我》[3]。
