i watched this one on TV. Chinese dubbing was dull and stupid. i could not help falling asleep every now and then.

But this documentary is very beautifully shot...and the prolonged ardor that the penguins have to endure to breed and raise the next generation is amazing.

one has to ask, how this all became way of life in the first place? How was it programmed?

Was it intelligent design? Then the designer did not make it very easy for the species. Was it Evolutionism? I am reminded of Darwin when i see the penguins gone astray will be left dead, when i see the weaker penguins die in the coldness and baby penguins get attacked by the pray bird. Only the strong survive. Nature is cruel, but that is the way it is.

Too bad i watched the version with Chinese dubbing -- almost killed it. I suspect the reason i dislike BOLT is also the terrible dubbing in Chinese. BOLT's story was very cliche, true, but the mouse was at least cute. There must be a reason for it to get an Oscar nomination.
