柏拉圖曾在《饗宴》中講過一個古老神話：從前的世界不是由男人和女人，而是由男男、男女和女女組成，每個人都很滿足，相安無事的過著日子，突然一天，上帝用刀子把所有人割成兩半，結果，世界就變成了只有男人和女人，每個人都在尋找另外的那半個軀體。
