when a hidden pansexual meets a bisexual

First of all, let me just say I love the 紐約 backdrop. And the two main female characters are lovable, smart and beautiful. Lastly, the music, monologue, jokes and intelligent undertones are seamlesssly blend together. I got totally sucked in when I first watch it, then I watched it again with someone, I took joy with it, I really thought we could resonant with it, it is one of the movies we can talk about from start to finish.

The protagonist 傑西卡 is a neurotic, tight, idealistic, artistic copy editor, her lover Helen is an open, funny, attractive, spontaneous gallery curator. They agree almost nothing, but they both smart, educated, funny, they make a great couple.

The plot is not very stereotypical, none like many other LGBT-related films, there is same sex chemistry encounter, no ponderous sexual confusing, there is coming-out to parent, no vicious homophobic gay bashing, there is difficult self confrontation, no regret in retrospect of any sort. However, there is U-haul, LBD, hehe, which is true probably, on the whole, the main mood of the film is light and warm.

When I watch it again, it comes to me that it really about learning about yourself, be yourself and trying out new things. What is the whole package of love relationship? "Illness immued " Helen gets cold, 傑西卡 takes care of her. In the end, 傑西卡 picks up the dry cleaning Helen leaves in oblivion. Does gentle love not enough for two people together? I don't know, but what I do know is, they all grow after these, Jess embraces new technology, new job, more importantly, new self. Helen finds another woman, maybe a step closer to true sexuality. Josh retrieves the passion for writing. It's all good.

It is a must-see movie, you can interpret it in many ways. But basically, it teaches us to be yourself, to open up, let things fall into place accordingly.   舉報
