what do you want

   我心目中的完美勵志片是當幸福來敲門，暫時還沒有哪部影片可以超越，包括這一部。太多的說教，淺顯的劇情，確實有那麼些冗長的感覺。不過，倒也的確是有很多發人深省的東西。
  查克對威爾說的那段話，我為之感動不已：「我明天就50歲了，我醒來還是要去工地幹活。可如果20年後，你還是來我家喝酒，看電視，我一定會宰了你，我沒有開玩笑。」什麼樣的朋友才能說出這樣的話？這就是義氣，不是盲目地哥倆兒好似的天天混在一起，而是真正地為對方考慮，這才叫兄弟。
  尚恩是對的，每個人都應該清楚自己到底想要什麼，不是別人告訴你你該如何如何，而是對於你自己來說，究竟想要什麼。看上去是很無厘頭的問題，但是在這個世界上天天庸庸碌碌的人那麼多，我看沒有幾個是可以很清醒地回答這個問題的。

  人這輩子，還是要經歷些什麼的。書是好東西，可是沒有體驗，一切皆是枉然。

   life's work, political aspirations.him and the pope.sexual orientation.the whole works, right?
   i bet you can't tell me what it smells like in the Sistine Chapel.
   you never actually stood there and looked up at that beautiful ceilings.

   if i ask you about women,
   you'll probably give me a syllabus of your personal favorites.
   you may have even been laid a few times.
   but you can't tell me what it feels like to wake up next to a woman and feel truly happy.
   you're a tough kid.

   i ask you about war,you'd probably throw Shakespeare at me ,right?
   "once more into the breach,dear friends."
   but you've never been near one.
   you've never held your best friend's head in your lap and watch him gasp his last breath looking to you for help.

   if i asked you about love,you'd probably quote me a sonnet,
   but you've never looked at a woman and been totally vulnerable.
   known somesone that could level you with her eyes.
   feeling like god put an angel on earth just for you,who could rescue you from the depths of hell.
   and you wouldn't know what it's like to be her angel,to have that love for her be there forever.
   through anything,through cancer.
   and you wouldn't know about sleeping sitting up in a hospital room for two months,holding her hand,because the doctors could see in your eyes that the terms "visiting hours" don't apply to you.
   
   you don't know about real loss,because that only occurs when you love something more than you love yourself.
   i doubt you've ever dared to love anybody that much.
