Dear Letter

I did not know that the beach in "Dear John" is actually in South 卡羅來納, where a lot of friends in Raleigh go in the summers. The beach is beautiful, both in the movie and pictures my friends have taken. I love the long pier, where John jumped into the sea to retrieve Savannah's bag. Somehow I think Savannah goes to school in North 卡羅來納.

With all the movies about distance and letters, I love this one. I wish John did not burn the letters. But maybe they were just a form of memory. Six years, that is how long John extended himself in war, not looking back, until he went back and wrote a letter to his dad. Being apart is complicated, and no one has the right answer for it. And the story is complicated, too. Things would change in many different ways but not the way they were hoping for.

The problem with time is that eventually time always runs out. But she will see him soon. It is always that simple.
