I See You, Mum.

In the Joy Luck Club, Amy Tan leads us into the joys and sorrows, tales and tears, generation conflicts and deep connections between four pairs of mothers and daughters. Each of the mothers wants to teach her child the experience and lesson she suffered in China, while give her the education and comfort in the States, which results in the destiny above; It is a fate so paradoxical: just like the cockle stairs, one step after another, going up, going down, but always going the same way. After all, it might be a bless, a curse, or a dilemma that we ethnic Chinese are bounded to, generations after generations.

That moment is so touching, and the emotion it contains transcends to my heart:
Amy Tan, I see you, as a man and a son, not a girl or a femalist, although an ethnic Chinese and a minority as well.
