HOPE AND LIFE

I am deeply touched by this novel 「The Color Purple」.As one of the famous writers named Essence said,」Walker dares to reveal truths about men and women,about Blacks and Whites, about god and love…a story of revelation…one of the great books of our time.」

Life wasn』t easy for Celie.But with the help of Nettie and Shug,she knew how to surive better,had the courage to ask for more,to laugh,to play ,and finally to love.

  purple is the color of royalty, purple connotes luxury, wealth, and sophistication. It is also feminine and romantic. However, because it is rare in nature, purple can appear artificial.

At the beginning of the movie, Celie and Nettie were playing in the beautiful pulple flowers,laughing and singing.They had a lot of happiness and knew how much they love each other.

Celie married Mister,she was a poor maid rather than a wife.she knew she didn』t love him,the only one in the world she loved was Nettie.The world was a little wonderful because of Nettie.After Nettie refuses Mister's predatory affections once too often, he kicks her out. The two sisters were hurted.

When Shug came into her life,who was Mister's old flame ,Celie begin to see her worth as a human being. Celie also found strength in Sofia, who marries Mister's son Harpo. Sofia had also suffered abuse from the men in her family, but unlike Celie, she refused to tolerate it.

  Under the help of Shug ,Celie read the letters from Nettie.She was so happy at the news that Nettie and her two children were alive and lived ln a family which was full of love.She hoped one day they would be reunited.

At last,Years of guilt finally caught up to Mister After Celie left Mister, he begen to know he had been a horrible person most of his life, especially to Celie. In a sudden act of kindness unknown to Celie, Mister took all the money he had saved over the years, went down to the immigration office, and arranged for the family reunion for Celie

The film ended when Nettie and Celie's children, Adam and Olivia, were reunited with Celie in the beautiful sunset.Nettie wore the purple chothes,the two sisters sang in the same pretty purple flowers just like what they had done when they were young.

In this novel,Shug told Celie everything is was to be loved .I think If we have the courage of life,God is here and everything will be better.
