The tale of two child prodigies

The best thing about this movie?
....music. Mr Horn did a good job.

I can get over the fact it's more Hollywood than convincing; I can get over the fact the director pacted in more "China" neither he nor the film can handle; I can get over the fact that the fictional setting is vastly mis-characterized; I can even get over the fact they make the kids kiss. But I can get over one fact: "the girl" is a serious mis-casting.

Would an American girl, aged 12 or 13, acting all bitched-up, watch boys play balls n a park, while pretending she's practicing violin? Not probable, but not impossible. Would a Chinese in Bei Jing? I don't know enough about little girls to answer.

But that's not the point.

The point is, the girl acts and talks way beyond her age, not an ounce of playful innocence and full of pretense laughters. In fact, if I photoshop and proportionally enlarge her, she would be a full scale woman.

As a popcorn movie, this one qualifies - a rather typical Hollywood branded KongFu movie. As a tale of two child prodigies- wait, three, if you count Justin Bieber (theme song), one enhanced it, another ruined it. But it's not the kid's fault, rather, chalk it up to mis-casting.
