Is Honesty available Here?

In Lie To Me, a popular American TV series, Doctor Lightman points out that we tells 3 lies every 10 minutes in average. It indicates that whatever the reasons are, human beings are unable to be entirely honest.
However Joe Biden failed to select because of his dishonest record, Machiavelli’s proposals for being a prince still have great influence on politicians nowadays. As a result, I cannot tell much about politicians but princes in the past. It’s not surprising to find that I am kept away from actual political incidents as an ordinary populace. But information about princes in the past is easy to get no matter in school, library or on net.
Unfortunately, for politicians who live in the light have to convince their supporters that they are honest enough to be trusted. So did the princes. Whether they have good reasons for us to forgive their dishonesty?
If a soldier can fight with no weapon, a politician can talk without falsehoods. The atmosphere around them is not a friendly one. People cheat others to get what they want. Then, lies can be both a spear and a shield. A person who does not tell lie can hardly recognize lies among flattering words. And also politicians should pull the wool over opponents』 eyes to gain benefit.
The supporters of any politician belong to many different echelons. One echelon asks for some things while another may want the exactly the opposite. In this case, how can politicians satisfy their supporters by telling the truth. Only lies can work.
Here comes a question: What politicians are? If they are models of morality, they should absolutely be forbidden to be dishonest. But the responsibility of politicians is governance. And more specific, they try to make progress to show their capacity in order to govern as long as possible. So as a politician, morality is not the first rule. So for us, we should judge them by thinking great of their steps and policy during governing.
Actually, we are in the same situation as politicians to some extent. We live in a competitive world. Lions may be too fierce to have friends and partners; a antelope may be too vulnerable to live independently; a fox may be too cunning to be trusted. So it’s necessary to tell lies. In fact, we have no choice: honesty is unavailable here.
