Super 8

Great acting by the kids, especially Elle Fanning and Joel Courtney. Although this is a science-fiction movie, it is not overrun by meticulous, complicated science nor big explosions and scary monsters. Rather, the gist of the storyline originates from the characters and families of a small town in Ohio, and illustrates how a massive incident could impact the lives and world view of its inhabitants, and vice versa, sometimes big events could be triggered by internal feelings. However, I believe the movie lacked any sparks of excitement of enlightenment, and the dialogues and cinematography seems a little too simplistic. An okay movie with a respectable premise, but is it truly memorable? I wouldn't say so.
