After watching Dead Poets Society

It’s another film about education and the youth, about romance and reality. And there exists one friend that makes the film so attracting, the poetry. 安德生’s words about Uncle W.W. still yell out itself in my head. My tear just went down my face on the felt blanket things. Sometimes truth is cruel, and we don』t have the power to look down at it. Trembling at the feeling of touching it is the only thing we can do. But guys do have ways to escape the punishment truth put on us. Some deny, some curse, some ignore, and some just let it unknown. Nil’s father, the president, and other people not mentioned in the film are exactly those people treating truth that way, but they design the future of the children. They laugh at 「17- year-old free thinkers」, and they are the ones who shape the future generation. Mr. Keating is telling the exact truth that your career as doctor, lawyer or engineer is things you do for a living. But we are told to be living for that. What about love, romance or poetry? We are born with these things in our heart, but sadly, it seems that the society doesn』t need them anymore. Parents are educated that way, and of course they put it for granted that bright future means you have all those things the majority in the society desire. But remember what coward 安德生 does in the end of the film? He stand up high on his desk, speak out loudly:" oh, captain, my captain!」.
