於我，這部電影impress我的是Maximus在面臨被處死時的「突然」反抗（對照《權力的遊戲·一》Nerd之死）。面對厄運，暗暗積蓄力量，絕不屈從（The silence before you strike and the noise afterwards, it rises. It rises up, like... like a storm.）。

對這個有感觸是因為想到我自己：很多不很順心的時候，我都會選擇以非常消極的方式去loose myself。So，a "gladiator " would toughen up, instead of merely waiting for the turn of the tide. He would go for it. Period.
