"Space Oddity"是David Bowie1969的歌, 關於虛構的太空人major tom的啟程發射出艙在太空駐留的過程中地面指揮和major tom的對話, 後來出了問題, major tom 可能將要永遠留在太空. 標題應該是致敬庫神的Space Odyssey. 這首歌也是他兒鄧肯·瓊斯的電影的靈感來源.
　　
義大利作詞人Mogol寫了一版關於孤獨男孩女孩的義大利版歌詞, DB又錄了義大利版"Ragazzo Solo, Ragazza Sola" ("Lonely Boy, Lonely Girl") , 也就是本片中姐弟跳舞時那版. 辟個謠, 義大利版不是為本片重寫的, 也是69年就出了. 雖然歌詞格局比英文版小了很多, 但真的非常適合, 個人覺得也更動聽, 義大利語確實是適合歌唱的語言. 貝托魯奇老爺子選歌真棒, 不過就不太清楚90後青少年們會聽這些歌嗎?
