是想說治病還得靠自己的意思嗎？。。被醫院開出30天內掛掉病危通知書的前電工癮君子自己查文獻找到了對抗AIDS的辦法活蹦亂跳了一年多還開始賣藥掙錢了（當然不是他自己開發的藥）。。

醫生發現他還活著之後的對話是這樣的，
「Actually, i've been reading a lot about buyers' clubs, they've been having some success eliminating syptoms with some of these new drugs..」 "Yeah, and without controlled trials, we're not gonna find a cure, because we'll have no legitimate data. so tell your patients to stay away from him."
聽著耳熟吧。。不是想想他為什麼還是活著，是不是能改進一下現有的療法而是舉著FDA未批准的大棒禁止患者吃那些讓他們活得更久的藥。為什麼呢？
"which he was about to sell to AIDS patients, OUR patients."
原來都是為了生意啊。。

"Goddamn, people are dying, and y'all up there are afraid that we're gonna find an alternative without you. See, the pharma companies pay the FDA, push their product, f..k no they don't wanna see my research. i don't have enought cash in my wallet to make it worth their while."

片尾法官裁決時說，
「Regarding the FDA, the court is highly disturbed by its bulling tactics, and direct interference with a drug that its own agency has found to be non-toxic. the FDA was formed to protect people, not preventing them from getting help. the law does not seem to make much common sense sometimes, if a person has been found to be terminally ill, well they ought to be able to take just anything they feel will help, but that's not the law.」

ps前電工說他吃的是，
「Vitamins, Peptide T, DDC, anything but that poison you're hawking.」

他還附帶升級了健康飲食觀念:D
"dont pollute me with processed crap, i'm eating healthy and you should too."

最後主角在確診第2557天後才去世，醫生可是說他30天內就會掛掉的啊，好響亮地耳光。話說不知道有多少人是被這種推卸責任沒人性的病危通知書嚇死的，還有更多被AZT這樣殺敵一千自傷一千的昂貴藥物玩死的（而藥物公司利用病人的恐懼大賺其錢卻不努力提供最有效的藥物真的沒關係嗎？），大概這也反襯了主角的可貴之所在吧。
