HER- The adorkable He

The movie HER is by far the most extraordinary and unusual love movie I have watched. There are so many adjectives that I can use, romantic, unique, senitive, thought-provoking, beautifully-weird and gripping.

Theo, the leading man in the movie who writes letters on clients' behalf, is a depressed man who is about to get divorced with his wife. He bought himself a smart operating system named Samantha and then developed a romatic relationship with HER.

It is a bizzare and weird concept. Interestingly, as I was watching, I felt myself synchronizing with Theo, from feeling unreal to accustomed to a being that you can chat at any time to a state of sadness, remorse and shock as the story rolls out.

Like all relationship, Theo and Sam went through it all. During the process, Theo got hold of how to love someone again, not for sex, not for the appearance, but for totally who or what that is. I think it is a superb lesson that audience can take away from the movie. It is to rekindle love inside ourselves.

Joaquin Phoenix plays the role of Theodore. His acting is real, sensitive, natural and you feel like you are beside him, just like the OS system. Most of the movie has him in it and you don't feel bored or tired of it and I am surprised he is not nominated for the best leading actor.

Scarlet Johnson dubbing the voice of Sam did an equally wonderful job. A very sexy, senitive, understanding voice that harmonizes with Theodore. Even though she never appeared in the movie, one can feel her emotion and impulse through vocal variety.

The movie setting is very very interesting. Of many places, I noted several scenes are set in Shanghai Lujiazui and Wujiaochang area.

Music, oh, the music part, the music that flows through the movie is undescribly touching. Check out the The Moon Song by Karen O.

Last but not least, Let me share with you all some of my favorite lines in the movie and thereby testify why this movie is so well-deserved to win the Oscar best award for original screenplay.

" I think anybody who falls in love is a freak. It's a crazy thing to do. It's kind of like a form of socially acceptable insanity."

"We are only here briefly, and in this moment I want to allow myself joy."
