「Higher Ground」這首聖詩的作詞者是Johnson Oatman、Jr.

歐德曼（Johnson Oatman, Jr. 1856-1922）出生於紐澤西州，他的父親常在教會獻詩，因此他從小就諳熟聖詩。 1892年，他開始寫福音詩歌，《數算主恩歌》寫於1897年。他的作品，常唱的有《哪有朋友像耶穌》（No, Not One），《向高處行》（Higher Ground ），《無朋友待我像耶穌》（There’s No Friend Like Jesus）等。

同名電影在電影結束後播放的最後一首音樂便是「Higher Ground」，節奏緩慢版。

中文版有翻譯在讚美詩合集裡（第395首？）中文歌詞為：

可以說本片音樂集合了許多聖樂與福音歌曲。男配角在信主前是搖滾樂隊的主唱，信主後本片就沒出現過金屬樂了。女主角有個閨密會說方言，女主角羨慕地在浴室裡求方言恩賜與聖靈充滿（這段很好笑）。主日聚會前的敬拜總是以音樂開始。我非常喜歡本片的剪輯：沒什麼主線，有的只是信仰生活的日常片段。
