以夢想為最原始的動力

故事從堵車時一段熱情洋溢的歌舞開始，一言不合就唱歌實在令人摸不著頭腦，紅裙子（還是黃裙子，短短幾個小時已經忘記）的女孩有種天然的奔放的美。然而主角隱藏在車裡，並未在開場現身，這確實出人意料。

女主在咖啡廳上班，也會為了演員夢而藉口看醫生去試鏡；男主一心重現爵士樂的輝煌，近乎死板地'不肯與現實相妥協。男女主的相遇很套路——女主從party離開，偶然聽到男主的鋼琴聲，被吸引進餐廳——撞見的卻是男主被辭退生氣離去的場景。

總之這樣那樣的陰差陽錯，兩人相識相交，在一起了。起初女主是軟弱的（當然是相較男主的純粹而言），或許說是現實更合適——做著一份聊以謀生的工作，保證著自己生活的同時不斷跑片場頻繁試鏡。對比起來，男主則更天真——也更像我們心中不管不顧的彼得潘——住在堆滿爵士相關的家裡，拒絕流俗的工作，即使在餐廳彈琴也只是裝裝樣子彈兩三首要求的曲子——隨後就趁其不備悄悄換回自己喜歡的。

兩個人也以肉眼可見地程度高速「融合」著——我不喜歡爵士，但你喜歡，狂熱地喜歡，那麼好，我也可以；你因為我沒有收入困擾，那麼我也能放下多少年來的堅持，換來你家人的認可——至少你也能鬆一口氣。

這樣的敘述真是庸俗。

以夢想為最原始的動力，你我以對方為依靠，互相改變彼此遷就，無論最後有沒有在一起，這段經歷就已經彌足珍貴。我們對彼此足夠特別，特別到將自己的一部份植入對方的生命，隨著歲月流逝溶於骨肉，我知道我愛你，你也愛我，所以結果不再重要。

雖然由於表現形式的不同，中間不免存在一些乏味的過渡片段，但結尾女主應邀而至的試鏡卻讓整個片子活了起來——

My aunt used to live in Paris

I remember, she used to come home and tell us

stories about being abroad and

I remember that she told us she jumped in the river once,

Barefoot

She smiled,

Leapt, without looking

And She tumbled into the Seine!

The water was freezing

she spent a month sneezing

but said she would do it, again

She captured a feeling
