兩個字：震撼！

這部電影可謂是紀錄片+傳記片+文藝片的集合體，一般說這其中之一就會讓人有一種打盹的衝動，還好他說的是音樂。深奧的哲理，人生的體會，晦澀的劇情，遊走與時間與虛幻之間，是一個人附了很多個體呢，還是很多個體裡有著相同人呢？

雖然如此，但從第一個鏡頭開始，我便認定他合我的胃口，並會反覆琢磨。I』m he. I』m her. I』m not there. 「我」是每個人身上的影子，而又不是一個完完整整的人。那個影子才是真正反映每個人身上的良知——對政治虛偽的批判、對人性偽善虛榮的厭惡，同時也是對自由的無限嚮往，對創造新力量的崇敬。

片中各種「民謠」式風格的歌曲，講述著身邊發生的人與事：某位美麗的姑娘被一槍致死，甘迺迪也如此倒下，街頭流浪人在巷中與女生調情……社會的動盪，民心惶惶。之所以把「民謠」畫上引號，是因為音樂的種類不應該被定義，他們只是在講述著這個時代在發生著什麼，說出我們的心聲，我想比「民謠」更合適的是「政治」。（ Doesn』t really matter what kind of nasty names people invent for the music. But folk music is just a word that I can』t use anymore. What I』m talking about is traditional music, which is to say it’s mathematical music, it’s based on hexagons. But all these songs about roses growing out of people’s brains and lovers who are really geese and swans are turning into angles.）

Now, I'm not talking about devil with the pithfork and horns. I'm talking about a spiritual devil in the midnight hour. He’s gotta be overcome. And we here in America, we shall overcome. What greater honor for a nation than to speak for God? For some say that the war to end all wars has already begun right now in the Middle East, where it is prophesized that the weak will fall, and that Jesus will get up his kingdom in Jerusalem. So why should we worry about when we』re already free, right here, right now? And why you are free – you』re free because Jesus paid for you to be. That’s why you』re free. You』re free to seek the higher calling of the Lord.
